Jamesons | Chartered Accountants and Business Advisers

Our Team

Whether you are appointing an accountant for the first time, or simply looking for new ideas, we can help.

Richard Allen FCA

I am the old man of the Team. I’ve been supporting and advising owner managed businesses for over 25 years now and I still get a kick from it. There’s nothing better than seeing a client benefit from the advice you’ve given! Outside of work, I like to spend time with my family or out on my motorcycle – the one place I can get away from everything.

I first met Richard Allen at Oxford Brookes University in 1982. We were both young then (!) and setting out on a career in Business & Finance. After some years spent as a partner at a firm in Oxford, it was not until 1997 that we decided to go into business together. Now, with over 24 years experience advising owner managed businesses, I have helped to nurture a flourishing practice with an outstanding team of people. I was personally delighted when we were awarded the Investor in People standard in September 2008. The Recognition Panel were gracious to say “for a small organisation, Jamesons are one of the most impressive I have ever read about”. It’s a great career that brings variety and daily challenges. That said it isn’t all about being at the office and I try to balance work with my wonderful family, my passion for both classic and sports cars and European driving holidays.

I qualified in 1997 and have worked in practise for a long time! I am a lucky person and love my job – probably as it gives me the opportunity to meet people and talk a lot! At Jamesons my organisational skills are put to the test managing the team and ensuring that client jobs flow smoothly through the office.

Although my 2 children have now technically grown up they are still living at home so home life is still as hectic.

One of the things I like to do during my evenings and weekends is to go running with friends and we put the world to rights at the same time. It’s a bit like therapy and many a problem has been solved while running a circuit of Witney. Eventually I want to travel more and I have a long list of places I want to visit however our skiing holidays will always be top of the list and if I ever win the lottery the first thing I will buy is a ski chalet in Austria!

I have been with Jamesons for over 10 years now after joining the firm as a trainee straight from school. Over the years my role within the Jamesons team has developed into a more senior position and I am currently enjoying the additional challenges this brings!

Away from work, I have recently become a father for the first time to my son Rory, so I am currently enjoying sleepless nights. Some of my colleagues will testify to this when I look in a daze mid afternoon! I enjoy watching the vast majority of sports and playing football (badly nowadays!) for my Sunday league side.

I have now been at the firm for almost 10 years and qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in February of 2006. My role within the team has been and still is evolving and the daily challenges that the job brings means that working life is never stale or dull! Away from the day job my time is split between my passions for sport, history and travel, and enjoy mountaineering, kayaking, rock climbing and fishing.

Jeannette Gardiner

Having worked for a number of accountants over the past 20 plus years, I can honestly say Jamesons is the best and I really enjoy the high level of client contact and variety my job gives me. I’m married and have two children. My daughter is currently studying for her A Levels and my son is in secondary school. Outside of work I enjoy watching my favourite football team, Liverpool FC, listening to music and watching mystery dramas with my daughter – we like to see if we can guess ‘who did it’ before the end of the programme.

Jade McCullion MAAT

I have been working for Jamesons since September 2003 when I left school for the real world. I have since gained my AAT qualification and have completed all the required ACCA examinations. Since the birth of my son Oli you will only find me in the office Wednesday through to Friday - on the other days of the week I am usually at some baby music group or play session. Outside of work and babies I also enjoy reading and a good natter with the girls.

Jamie Timms MAAT

I began working at Jamesons in September 2004 after completing my A levels and have now achieved the AAT and ACCA qualifications. Outside of work I enjoy playing football for Spartan Rangers FC. I try to keep fit and go to the gym when possible. I also like hitting the town for a big night out with the lads!

Matthew Blow MAAT

I started working for Jamesons after completing my A levels in 2007 at King Alfred's School in Wantage. I have since achieved my AAT qualification and I am now working towards gaining the ACCA qualification.

Outside of work I enjoy playing golf, rugby and football but I am currently still in recovery from my knee injury. Therefore to make up for this I enjoying watching all types of sport and I also partake in an active social life as I like a few beers and a good night out with the lads.

Jennie Carter

I am one of the newest members of the team here at Jamesons. I have just finished my A levels at King Alfred’s in Wantage and I am now working towards my AAT qualification. I have been dancing since I was four years old, and have recently become a qualified Freestyle Dance Teacher with the IDTA. I also enjoy watching/reading the Twilight Saga’s as well as going on sunny holidays.

Victoria Penny

Having completed my A levels at Burford School in 2010, I joined Jamesons soon after as a trainee accountant. I currently attend Witney and Abingdon College in order to attain firstly my AAT and to progress onto the ACCA.

Outside of work I like to sing and regularly drive the neighbours mad with my rendition of Whitney Houston and other female artists. I also like to dance. I enjoy spending time with my friends immensely and in my quiet times there is nothing better than a good book.

Whilst I haven’t been at Jamesons long, I love my job and hope to enjoy many years working along side some seriously good people.

Lesley Eaglestone

I am the Administrator and started working for Jamesons in March 2010 and enjoy all the day to day challenges this role provides.

I have a son in secondary school, and a step-daughter who lives and works in London. I love holidays in the sun, but try and visit the Lake District once a year, as I enjoy the walks and the natural beauty of the area.

Steph Williams

I am the newest member of the team here at Jamesons and the time I have spent so far has been great and the start of a big learning curve for me. I have joined after just recently completing my BTEC National Diploma in Business at North Star College in Swindon and am now working towards my AAT qualification.

Outside of work, I like to keep an active lifestyle by taking part in many sports for fun such as football and trampolining. I also enjoy socialising with my friends and having a good night out. Any time I have left over, I enjoy supporting my local speedway team, watching other sports and holidays in the sun when possible!
